New Laptop, who dis?
Well hello there. Happy new year!
I hope you had a happy holiday season. And if not, let's pretend you did anyway.
I recently came into a new to me laptop from work, which I finally took the time to set up how I want it to be, which included syncing my documents over.
Between that, reading the core rule book for The Land of Eem, having motivation to write, and having some downtime today I ACTUALLY made progress on my humble little TTRPG.
I sat down and wrote up an outline for how I want the story to play out, including key encounters in the second "act". I've made so much progress in fact that I am at the point where I'm designing encounters.
Yes. Encounters. I've had those.....
Okay, this is where I'm still a bit fuzzy, having never really GM'd before. But, this whole project is a learning experience. One where I want to push myself (slightly harder than a nudge) to actually finish this project.
I know the encounters are where the action happens. One thing I've learned from reading The Land of Eem is that encounters should actually have a narrative impact. This is where my game will get fleshed out, and I'll enable my players to make the story theirs.
I think I've passed the overwhelming part of "Oh sh*t, what have I gotten myself into!" and into "Let's have some fun with this!".
I now believe I can do this.
Time to write some encounters!
Toodles!
